In Details

Set in over fourteen thousand acres (six thousand hectares) of the Thaba Tholo Wilderness, in the Mpumulanga region of South Africa, Black Leopard Camp is the last word in luxury.  Arrival at the camp begins with a half mile (eight hundred metre) mountain descent in a specially adapted 4x4 vehicle.  Each unit is en suite with a wonderful outside bathroom that offers a shower and a Victorian ball and claw bath.  The view could not be more relaxing!

Daily game drives and bush walks introduce the local flora and fauna. The animals include the blue wildebeest, buffalo, crowned eagles, giraffes, honey badgers, jackals, warthogs and zebra. The camp is also home to the  Golden (Erythristic) Leopard.

The potentially once in a lifetime experience, and certainly not one which money can buy, will be the sighting of a black panther. A black panther is the melanistic colour variant of any big cat species. Black panthers in Asia and Africa are leopards and, while extremely rare, there is an unusually high number in this area.

Experience the true atmosphere of the wilderness on a bush walk. Venturing off the beaten track, you are at one with nature, as the guide both educates and entertains.  You’ll learn the history of the region and how cutting edge technology helps track the animals and the game wardens.  In  this high tech world, it has been installed to the benefit of the animals and the environment.  The camp also runs a Leopard Research Programme to better understand the leopards (panthers) in their midst. A very special money can’t buy memento will be a plaster mould of the leopard’s tracks, which the ranger will identify and lift while on the walk.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.
