From filmmaker Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, Inception, The Dark Knight Trilogy) comes the epic action thriller Dunkirk.  The film opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea, they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.

Your journey begins in Dunkirk, on the coast of Northern France.  At Fort des Dunes, you’ll tour some of the filming locations, accompanied by a noted historian and a custodian, who will bring to life the real-life event that shaped our world—the evacuation of Dunkirk, code-named “Operation Dynamo.”

From the seaport town of Calais, you’ll travel via ferry to Dover, whose famous White Cliffs confirm your arrival in England.   Dover Castle, the planning and staging area for “Operation Dynamo”, is closed to the public...but is ready to share some of its secrets with you.

Next, you’re invited to explore the clandestine tunnels that burrow through the castle’s foundations, and you’ll learn more about the evacuation and its legacy of heroism.

After this action-packed day, you’ll enjoy a 1940s-themed meal, served in the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes (NAAFI).

Then, look to the skies, as the most famous fighter plane in the world, the Spitfire, makes a flyby.  The fabled aircraft is one of the few remaining workhorses from the incredible story of Dunkirk.

Your adventure draws to a close with a free day in London, where many of the operational decisions behind this incredible true story were made.
